Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, FL – The 2 drunk 2 care and self entitled, “Pothead Princess”, tweeter whom caused an accident on November 17, 2013 that killed two young girls, is finally being held responsible for her actions.
According to documents filled out by the Florida Highway Patrol, Kayla Maria Mendoza, age 20, had the blood alcohol level of .15 which is almost double the .08 that defines drunk driving. FHP also found traces of marijuana in her system from the toxicology report.
On that night, reports claim Kayla Mendoza was driving east on the Sawgrass Express way on Sunday at 1:45 a.m. While driving the wrong way in her Hyundai Sonata at reported speed of 100 mph, she hit, head on, a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by Kaitlyn Nicole Ferrante, age 21. Kaitlyn and Marisa were going home after spending the night celebrating Marisa Caran’s 21′s birthday.
Marisa Catronio was pronounced dead, but Kaitlyn Ferrante was rushed to Broward Health North hospital to get treatment, but died days later on Thursday November 21.
A spokespersonf for the FHP says, “These types of cases can usually take months unless a person is a flight risk, but no arrests are made until the investigation is complete.
Gary Catronio, Marisa’s father, didn’t know something was wrong till after his daughters 2 a.m. curfew which she never missed. It wasn’t until he looked at his phone and saw her location stopped on the expressway.
Gary Catronio goes on to say said he was wanting to give the girl who caused the accident the benefit of the doubt, hoping for a medical condition or emergency. This just builds on the case she made a choice, the wrong choice.”
Kayla Mendoza has finally been arrested and charged with DUI mansaluter, vehicluar homicide, and driving with a suspended license. She is currently being held on a $600,000 bond.
