Couple Pleads Guilty After Defrauding Elderly Clients
Linda Littlefield, who is also known as Linda Vasquez and is a disbarred attorney, age 41, and her former husband Ross Littlefield, age 48, had defrauded almost $3 million from elderly clients and used the money to buy cars, real estate, and to fix up their other businesses.
According to reports, from 2007 to 2010, the couple had taken nearly $5 million from 26 clients, and had the money shifted around different accounts for personal use.
To make their business JNN Foundation seem legit, Ross Littlefield would falsify quarterly statements and send them out to their clients to make it appear as if their balances were higher than they were.
The clients were told the money would be part of a pooled trust that was designed to shelter assets, but also maintaining the beneficiaries Medicaid eligibility. But sadly, most of the clients ended up losing their life savings.
Linda and Ross Littlefield both pleaded guilty to one count of conducting a prohibited money transaction.
This is not the first time this couple has been in prison. Linda Littlefield is already serving a two year state prison sentence from a conviction in Osceola Circuit Court of taking money from an elderly couple who were her clients. Ross Littlefield only received a 5 year probation.
In 2010, Linda Littlefield, after being arrested, opened a new business in Tampa that was called Medicaid Benefits Experts that was used to continue taking money from elderly people.
Currently there are several civil lawsuits that are pending against the former couple.
